In view of the 150th Birth Anniversary  of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Cotton University has taken up various events for the day.


1. Gandhi Global Solar Yatra - An event wherein a workshop on the importance of Solar Energy as renewable energy source and sensitization of students towards adverse effects of climate change and making them future propagators of renewable energy. Students from various schools are expected to participate in this event. Venue: MCB Building, Room 311


2. Blood Donation Camp - In collaboration with Guwahati Medical College and an NGO named TOUCH OF HUMANITY, the NSS Unit of Cotton University has undertaken a day long blood donation camp to be held at the Cotton Campus from 11am to 2pm


3. The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology is organising a Lecture "Following the Mahatma: Kanaklata's March to Freedom" by Prof. Shiela Bora at 03.00 pm at the Conference Hall of Cotton University to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation.
