About the Summit
We are thrilled to welcome you to the Northeast Green Summit 2024. The Northeast Green Summit is an annual event dedicated to advancing environmental sustainability in Northeast India. Northeast Green Summit aims to celebrate the rich and diverse natural and cultural heritage of Northeast India, showcase their inter-linkages and focus on the need for an integrated approach for sustaining this heritage. The Summit is striving towards preserving, maximizing and developing the potential of the unique biodiversity zone of Northeast India through various awareness programmes highlighting, amongst other things, various sustainable livelihood options and associated skills. The discussions will link and draw lessons from science, culture and market mechanisms. Through seminars, workshops, and collaborative projects, we endeavor to address the region’s most pressing environmental challenges. Join us in our mission to create a sustainable and resilient future for our communities.
This year, we focus on the critical theme of "Pollution Control and Waste Management for Sustainable Development". Our goal is to bring together experts, practitioners, and enthusiasts to discuss and develop strategies for a greener & cleaner future.
Mission
- To provide a platform for academicians, research scholars, industry leaders, policymakers, student organizations, civil society representatives, media persons, NGOs, etc. to deliberate and design effective solutions for key environmental challenges being faced in Northeast India.
- Robust and scientific planning can result in converting these challenges into potential opportunities for supporting sustainable development and ecological conservation in the region.

Instructions to Authors
Authors are invited to submit abstracts (about 250 words) in Ms- word by November 28, 2024 either by clicking the link given under Registration or by scanning the QR code given in the flyer. Title, name of author(s), and affiliations along with email addresses are must. Abstract should contain an introductory statement outlining the background and significance of the study, a succinct description of the basic methodologies used, a clear indication of the major findings of the study and a concluding statement. For final acceptance of the paper, the registration of at least one author is mandatory.

Registration
Registration is open for both participants with and without paper. Registration fee for paper presenter is Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only). Participation in the summit is free of charge for those not presenting a paper.

Participants are responsible for their own travel and daily expenses. Accommodation will be provided on paid basis only. All attendees will enjoy local hospitality, featuring a seminar kit, breakfast, lunch, and high tea.
About Cotton University
Cotton University, erstwhile Cotton College, is a Public State University located in Guwahati, the capital city of Assam. In its glorious journey of more than a hundred years, this institution has, always been witnessing to and an active participant in most of the socio-cultural and political debates, discourses and movements.of contemporary times. It had also been the centre of the national freedom movement as well as numerous literary and cultural engagements of the state that cemented Assam's status as an integral part of India. In 2011, Cotton College State University was established: vide an Act of the Government of Assam, with Cotton College as its constituent unit. Cotton University came into existence in 2017 via The Cotton University Act, 2017 that enabled the unification of Cotton College State University and Cotton College. Cotton University makes history as Assam's first public university to secure 'A' grade in NAAC's first evaluation.
About VIBGYOR NE Foundation
Vibgyor N.E. Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, specialises in green issues of Northeast India & works closely with other groups in this sector in the region. Vibgyor has completed 8 successful years of Northeast Green Summit, the only such annual conclave of the region. The 9th edition of Northeast Green Summit focuses on POLLUTION CONTROL & WASTE MANAGEMENT FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.

How to Reach
- By Air: To reach Cotton University by air, you can fly into Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, which is about 22 kilometers from the university. From the airport, you can take a taxi or bus to Panbazar, where the university is located.
- By Train: Cotton University is located in Panbazar, in the center of Guwahati city. The Guwahati Railway Station is also within walking distance of the university, about 500 meters away.
